Care Guide

Friendship Plant Care Guide

Light

Provide bright, filtered light. While it can tolerate medium light, its colors will be more vibrant in brighter conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the quilted leaves.

Watering

Maintain consistently moist soil during the active growing season. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure the pot has drainage to prevent root rot. Reduce frequency during the winter months.

Humidity

High humidity is the secret to success. If your home is dry, use a humidifier, a pebble tray, or group it with other plants. It is an excellent candidate for terrariums.

Temperature

Keep temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C-27°C). Protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature drops below 55°F.

Seasonal Tips

  • Spring/Summer: This is the time for propagation. Pinch back the tips to encourage a bushier growth habit.
  • Winter: Growth will slow down. Allow the soil to dry out a bit more than usual between waterings and stop fertilizing.

Common Issues

  • Leggy Stems: Usually indicates the plant is reaching for more light. Move to a brighter location.
  • Brown Tips: Typically caused by low humidity or using water with high mineral content.
