Peace Lily 'Sensation'
Spathiphyllum 'Sensation'
The 'Sensation' is the largest cultivar of the Spathiphyllum genus, renowned for its massive, deeply ribbed, dark emerald leaves that can grow up to several feet in length. This architectural giant provides a lush, tropical atmosphere to any interior space and is exceptionally efficient at air purification. While it is primarily prized for its dramatic foliage, it periodically produces the iconic white, hood-like flowers (spathes) that contrast beautifully against its dense, dark green canopy.

Pet Warning
Contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. If ingested, it can cause intense oral irritation, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing in cats, dogs, and humans.
Care Guide
Lighting
Place your Sensation in bright, filtered light. While it can tolerate lower light levels, its growth will slow and it may fail to flower. Avoid direct afternoon sunlight, which can cause permanent scorch marks on the large leaves.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. This plant is famous for 'fainting' (wilting) when thirsty, but it will bounce back quickly once watered. To avoid brown leaf tips, use filtered or distilled water to minimize exposure to fluoride and chlorine.
Humidity
High humidity is essential for this tropical variety. Maintain humidity levels above 50% using a humidifier, pebble tray, or by grouping plants together. Regularly misting the leaves can also help prevent dry edges.
Maintenance
The large surface area of the leaves collects dust quickly. Wipe the leaves weekly with a soft, damp cloth to ensure the plant can photosynthesize effectively. Trim yellow or dead leaves at the base of the stem to encourage new growth.
Temperature
Keep the plant in a warm environment between 65°F and 85°F (18°C - 29°C). Protect it from cold drafts, air conditioners, and heaters, as sudden temperature fluctuations can stress the plant.
